Information about Berlin Accommodation Tax (City Tax)
The city state of Berlin has introduced an accommodation tax (city tax) with effect from 1 January 2014.
This city tax will be raised for all overnight stays of travellers who come to Berlin for private reasons.
Business travellers who produce corresponding evidence upon arrival are exempted from the payment of this tax. For this reason, we as the hotel are obliged to ascertain the reason for travelling.
The city tax will be automatically added to the net room price, unless the guest provides plausible evidence for the professional nature of the stay.
If you have any questions, you can contact directly the Senate of Berlin by phone: +49 (0) 30 9024 2697 6 or via email: poststelle@fa-marzahn-hellersdorf.verwalt-berlin.de. Further information you can get on www.berlin.de/sen/finanzen/steuern/nachrichten/artikel.6163.php.
