Film Museum Berlin
A visit to the Film Museum Berlin is like embarking on a journey through film history: pioneering cinema, silent film goddesses, films of the Weimar Republic, films in National Socialism, exile in Hollywood, post-war films, contemporary cinema, and at the centre of the permanent exhibition: Marlene Dietrich. The experience is complemented by special exhibitions. Since June 2006 the film house on Potsdamer Platz has been expanded to include the first German television museum, becoming a "House of Moving Images".

Museum Island
The Museum Island buildings in Berlin Mitte include the Old Museum, New Museum, Old National Gallery, Bode Museum and Pergamon Museum. Museum Island is being rehabilitated until about 2012 so that the archaeological collections can be merged and viewed continuously along a promenade. The independence of the individual museum buildings, which are single structures, is to be preserved.

German Museum of Technology (Deutsches Technikmuseum)
The German Museum of Technology is intended not only for those interested in technology. At the moment 14 departments covering an area of around 25,000 sq. m are only exhibiting one quarter of their treasures, e.g. an exhibition on inland waterway and ocean-going shipping, one of the largest collections concerning rail transport in historical locomotive sheds, the Veterans Depot with 70 cars and motorbikes, the Museum Park with its brewery and mills, and the permanent exhibition about aerospace. There are demonstrations taking place almost everywhere and visitors are encouraged to participate.

Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum houses one of the most important collections of advanced Egyptian civilisation in the world. The collection includes important works such as a bust of Queen Nofretete, a portrait of Queen Teje and the famous "Berlin Green Head". Since the 13 August 2005 the collection can be seen on the upper floor of the Old Museum on Museum Island, for four years. In 2009 it will be moving to the New Museum.
